Leading politicians across Coventry have met with the chief executive and senior technical managers from WM Housing Group which has 17,000 houses across Coventry.

Leading politicians across Coventry have met with the chief executive and senior technical managers from WM Housing Group which has 30,000 housing stock across the West Midlands with 17,000 of them in Coventry.

The city’s three MPs and the Leader and Deputy Leader of Coventry City Council sought assurances over high rise buildings across the city.

They were told that no residential building in the city has the cladding that was used at Grenfell Tower in London, which is at the centre of the investigation by fire services after Wednesday’s tragedy.

WM Housing has published information on their website and written to all tenants of their 24 tower blocks to reassure them of the safety measures in place.

Politicians will continue to receive briefings as further information from the tragic events in London emerge.
