Council responds to false flag fine story

Published Monday, 24 July 2017

We've been made aware of a story circulating on Facebook about the Council that isn't true.

The post claims that the Council sent a bailiff to a Coventry address because a Union Jack flag was displayed. This is not true.

While we cannot discuss the specific reasons for a debt recovery, we can categorically say the debt being recovered here is not connected to a fine for displaying a Union Jack as has been claimed on social media.
