Win your Christmas wish list in the city centre’s festive giveaway

Published Wednesday, 08 November 2017

Christmas shoppers have the chance of winning a share of £4,000 as part of a massive city centre festive giveaway.

Stamp card for competition

All people have to do is pick up a ‘stamper card’ and get it stamped six times by spending £5 on separate occasions in any one of the many stores taking part.

Then they fill in their details, drop it in one of the designated post boxes and wait for the draw.

There are prizes of £250, £500, £1,000 and £2,000 – and the prize-winners can then draw up a Christmas ‘wish list’ from around the city centre and competition organisers the Coventry Business Improvement District (BID) will do the shopping.

The first two prizes in the draw will be £250, with the winners named at the Christmas Lights Switch-on, on 22 November.

The £500 winner will be announced on 29 November, with the £1,000 winner on 6 December and the jackpot £2,000 winner on 13 December.

Trish Willetts, Coventry BID manager, said the competition is a great way to celebrate the festive season and support city centre businesses.

She added: “The businesses have really got behind the giveaway and we are pleased that so many have joined in.

“This competition just adds to the fantastic line-up of events taking place in the city centre in the run up to the holiday, including Alesha Dixon at the switch-on and the Coca Cola Christmas Truck paying a visit on 11 December.”

All stores taking part in the competition are listed on the city centre website at and the Facebook page.

Shoppers can get their stamper cards from any of those stores, or from the upcoming Coventry BID Christmas Guide and the special post boxes can be found at the Belgrade Plaza, Cathedral Lanes, Council House, Lower Precinct Shopping Centre and West Orchards Shopping Centre.

Prizes are non-transferable and there are no cash alternatives. The prize draw is open to residents of the UK only who are aged 18 years or over.
