A celebration event will be held next week to mark the contribution made by the Coventry Ambassadors during the past five years.
Since 2012 the Coventry ambassador volunteers have supported over 100 events and contributed over 30,000 volunteer hours.
The volunteers now serve as a key Olympic legacy for the city; it’s such a success that host cities for the Tokyo 2020 games are using Coventry ambassadors as a best practice model for Olympic legacy volunteering with a second delegate visit from Japan taking place in December to meet with organisers EnV and the volunteers.
The on-going success of EnV is shown through the achievement of becoming the winners of the SME news awards 2017 for ‘Best Community Event Management Organisation – West midlands’. EnV are also finalists in the SME Coventry and Warwickshire Business awards 2017 in the ‘Best Community Business’ Category.
The ambassadors capture the immense pride shown by local people for their home city and give them the opportunity to showcase the very best of what their area has to offer through their amazing people skills.
The event is at the Ricoh Arena on Tuesday 4 December.
