EnV and Coventry Ambassadors are celebrating five years of volunteering after their latest award win.
Since London2012 the Coventry Ambassador volunteers have supported over 100 events and contributed over 30,000 volunteer hours with over 350 volunteers deployed across events in 2017.
EnV were winners of the SME Coventry and Warwickshire Business Awards 2017 for Community Business of the Year.
On Friday the ambassador team will be welcoming visitors from Tokyo working on behalf of the Tokyo2020 Olympic Games who want to learn from the volunteers about the London Olympics and their volunteer legacy.
Coventry Ambassadors now serves as a key Olympic legacy for the city and is believed to be one of the last remaining that continues to be active in the country following 2012 Games.
Various roles are taken on by the Coventry Ambassadors in events that are local, national and international. All of which are held across Coventry and Warwickshire. All volunteers are from wide and diverse backgrounds, abilities, ages, regions and faiths.
Coventry Ambassadors can be spotted supporting guests at the next Coventry City of Culture Announcement.
A celebration event is also planned on Tuesday 5 December 2017 at the Ricoh Arena which will recognise the on-going contribution made by the volunteers.
