Feedback for West Midlands Fire Service

Published Wednesday, 17 January 2018

Coventry residents are being asked for their views on how West Midlands Fire Service (WMFS) should be run in the future.

There are a number of reasons for proposed changes to this vital emergency service, including central government's public service reform and devolution agendas. Public services across the region have already begun to change and this will continue as West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) progresses.

Last year, the WMFS commissioned an independent review of its current governance, considering several models, and identified the WMCA as the best possible future option. The WMCA is now consulting on a 'scheme' document which describes the proposed governance structure.

This consultation will run from 11 January to 8 March.

The short survey and further information can be found on the West Midlands Combined Authority website. Please do take the time to #haveyoursay
