Local football manager and coach, Mark Friday, was presented with a Good Citizen Award by Coventry’s Lord Mayor yesterday.
Mark has supported over 100 children as Chairman and Manager of Ernesford Dynamos Football Club, where he has been for 15 years. In addition to this and his full time job as an accountant, Mark arranges events and fundraisers and also helps children with learning and behavioural difficulties integrate into the game and teachers older players to be ambassadors. Since 2009, Mark has also served as Chair on the Board of Directors at Caludon Castle school.
Part of the citation which explains why Mark was presented with the Award states: “Mark’s passion and commitment to the children at the club is evident and their end of season presentation recognises their contribution, however big or small. It is evident through his community work he has shown tremendous commitment to the people of Coventry.”
