Coventry Public Health has teamed up with partners such as Church Pastors to bring an exciting health event to the community.
Be Happy, Be Healthy will take place on Saturday 20 January from 1pm – 5pm at United Reformed Church, 10 Warwick Row, CV1 1EX.
The free event is being held to make communities aware of certain long-term health conditions such as obesity and diabetes to give them some practical tips on avoiding or improving certain health conditions– all in an enjoyable environment.
Be Happy, Be Healthy will feature short practical talks and opportunities for one to one conversations with health experts and free HIV testing carried out in a private room at the Church. Dr. Afiniki Akanet will provide practical advice on managing stress.
To make the event even more enjoyable, the God Mission Church Youth Choir will be performing, along with Coventry Gospel Singer Sandra Godley. She will take to the stage and perform a range of her most empowering Gospel songs.
Cabinet Member for Public Health and Sport, Cllr Kamran Caan, said: “This event is an exciting opportunity for us to bring Coventry services to the community in an event that will encourage people to look after their health, better understand long term health conditions and to raise awareness of the importance of HIV testing.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone on the day and guarantee it will be a valuable experience to get advice and support, enjoy a free day and also meet new people.”
