Wellbeing event promotes importance of health checks

Published Tuesday, 23 January 2018

The Be Happy, Be Healthy event at the weekend proved a success, with many people receiving helpful advice.

The event was organised by Coventry Public Health, together with partners such as Church Pastors and focused on providing advice and raising awareness of long term health conditions such as obesity and diabetes.

This was made even more interesting for attendees with a variety of stands addressing different health conditions, testing for HIV and free health checks.

Along with this, there were performances from Sandra Godley and God Mission Church Youth Choir and talks from health experts running throughout the day.

Cabinet Member for Public Health and Sport, Cllr Kamran Caan, said: "This event was an exciting opportunity and helped us to bring Coventry services to the community in a way that encouraged people to look after their health, better understand long term health conditions and raise awareness of the importance of HIV testing."
