Madhan Jassal is the latest person to be presented with a Good Citizen Award by Coventry’s Lord Mayor, Councillor Tony Skipper.
Madhan regularly organises charity football tournaments during his weekday evenings for businesses in Coventry and Warwickshire, where he has helped raise over £57,000 since the first championship in 2006. Last year, Madhan gave around 100 hours of his time to arrange the fixtures, raise money and refereed at over 40 of the matches which not only benefit charity, but promote healthy living between Coventry businesses through sport.
Part of the citation explaining why he has received the Award, states: “Madhan provides an opportunity for employees from different companies to meet, socialise and participate in a competitive sport while in a pleasant and respectful environment. It is evident through his voluntary work he has shown tremendous commitment to the people of Coventry and he is well deserved of this Good Citizen Award.”
