Coventry’s Family Hubs – open and serving families in local communities

Published Friday, 25 May 2018

Coventry’s eight family hubs will unveil their new names, as chosen by their communities, during a week of fun activities.

Families are invited to get along to their family hub during the Whitsun half term (29 May – 1 June).

Family hubs opened in November 2017,  bringing together a range of early help partners in one place to support children and families in local areas.

Visitors to the family hubs have been asked to come up with names and the winners will be revealed the open events.

There will be a range of free fun family activities including outdoor games and sporting activities, slime workshops, face painting, cooking, graffiti art, refreshments and bouncy castles.

Families will also get the chance to talk to the practitioners working with them about the services they offer. They include health visitors, advice services, police and local voluntary organisations.

Cllr Pat Seaman, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said: “Family hubs are a valuable resource for our communities with all sorts of support and advice at hand. If you haven’t been along to yours yet I’d urge you to do so this half term and find out what they have to offer and have some great fun too. And of course you’ll get to find out what the new name will be.”
