Latest Good Citizen honoured by Lord Mayor

Published Wednesday, 11 July 2018

Coventry pastor, Eniiwaju Etomi, is the latest person to be presented with a Good Citizen Award.

Good citizen

The Lord Mayor, Councillor John Blundell, presented Eniiwaju with the Award for over 15 years of volunteering and running projects in the community. One of these projects is ‘Free lunch on Jesus’ where she organised for free hampers to be distributed to less privileged families during the festive season, with 650 given out last year in Wood End alone.

Eniiwaju has also volunteered with Youth Offending Services acting as a role model and life coach as well as being Pastor at the Redeemed Christian Church of God. She has also worked with black and ethnic minorities to help them get involved with the City of Culture programme and helped them celebrate success where outstanding students are given cash rewards for earning first class Honours Degree or Distinction in their Master’s Degree.

Part of the citation which explains the reasons for the Award, states:

‘It is evident that through Eniiwaju’s work she has shown tremendous commitment to the people of Coventry by investing her time, efforts and resources to help others in her community, her actions properly reflect her character and she is a worthy recipient of this Good Citizen Award.’
