Advice on barbecues in Coventry parks

Published Friday, 27 July 2018

Coventry parks are suspending the use of barbecues due to the current high risk of fire, and the amount of fires, particularly at Coombe Abbey Country Park.

The request follows general safety advice about the use of barbecues at home and in other green spaces.

A Coventry parks spokesperson, said: “We have had a number of fires caused by the use of barbecues – particularly at Coombe Country Park.

"We are suspending their use until further notice in Council parks, and hope that local people will co-operate and ensure that everyone can enjoy the amenities at their local parks safely.”
