Summer Reading Challenge Young Volunteers aged 14-18 – “Space Chase”

Published Wednesday, 08 May 2019

We would like to offer young people aged 14 – 18 the opportunity to volunteer in our libraries this summer.

We run a Summer Reading Challenge for children up to 11 years old and this encourages children to read six books over the summer holidays. This year’s theme is based around Space and the 50th anniversary of the moon landing. All of our libraries run activities and events connected to this Challenge.  We would like young volunteers to support staff with administering the Summer Reading Challenge and running activities. We hope that this will support young people in enhancing their CVs, offering them experience in the workplace and building confidence. We know that this will offer a valuable experience to library staff, young volunteers and young children taking part in the Summer Reading Challenge.

Young People (aged 14-18 years) just need to complete an online application form by Sunday 9 June.
