Over 50s invited to free picnic with Deputy Lord Mayor at War Memorial Park
Thursday 4 October 2012
Coventry's Over 50s club is inviting people to have a picnic with the Deputy Lord Mayor this Friday (5th October) in War Memorial Park and are offering a free buffet and tea and coffee.
The picnic was previously planned for July, but was cancelled due to heavy rain. This time, organiser, David Guy, from the Over 50s club, has arranged for a marquee to be on site and also to be able to relocate into the café if necessary.
David Guy said: "This was originally planned for July but the weather meant we had to cancel. We've got some fun games such as bowls as well as a free picnic for everyone over 50, so come along and support the event and also enjoy a chat with the Deputy Lord Mayor. We've also been allowed to use the café room if the weather turns bad, so nothing should stop us this time."
The picnic will be held near the café by the tennis courts, closest to the Kenilworth Road from 11am to 2pm.
