Person paying at a car park meter

Staff car parking is not provided at Friargate, but pool cars and bikes are available to use for work journeys and travelcards for bus and train.

Park and Ride

Why not park at War Memorial Park & Ride off Kenilworth Road and hop on the bus for a 5 minute journey to Warwick Road bridge for Friargate? Parking costs £1 in addition to the fare for travel on the bus. You must request a discount parking ticket on board.

There are 3 payment stations situated in the main car park for payment before exit. The payment stations are cashless payment only. Contactless payment is accepted. To pay for your parking, scan the original ticket followed by the discount ticket.

Car parks

The nearest council car park is Coventry Railway Station (access from Eaton Road).

On-street car parking restrictions

On-street parking is not permitted anywhere in the city centre other than clearly marked metered bays, where you must buy a ticket and display it clearly. If you park in any other place you will receive a penalty charge notice.

On-street parking is very limited around Friargate as there are residents' parking schemes on adjacent streets: including Stoney, Manor and Park Roads and surrounding streets across Cheylesmore, Charterhouse, Earlsdon and The Butts. Parking in a residents' parking area when it is in operation without a valid permit is not allowed and you are likely to get a parking ticket.

Motorcycle parking

Motorcycle parking is available 5 minutes walk away on Warwick Row.
