Community Short Breaks provide opportunities for disabled children and young people to relax, develop new friendships, take part in new experiences and have fun doing positive activities.
Activities last for a couple of hours during term time and holiday periods. Our aim is to ensure that families with disabled children have the support they need to engage in community based activities.
We provide activities for all children/young people with disabilities. If your child or young person requires additional support during sessions or to access community based short breaks, support can be offered and identified through short breaks panel. Short Break Panel requests should be made by a lead professional through a CAF or Social Worker.

If you are attending Community Short Breaks for the first time, please complete a short breaks passport and bring along a copy of DLA letter/Diagnosis Letter for evidence of disability. We require this information before a booking can be made for a short break. Please note there are limited spaces available so booking is essential. Only one booking is needed for each half term of term time activities.
To book short breaks please call us or book online. Please note only one booking per term is required for term time activities. Holiday activity information will be released on the website, by email and by post. In this instance there will be booking hotline which will be open for a period of time. Bookings can be made by telephone or online as stated in holiday activity information.
If your child or young person already has a Personal Assistant or Carer supporting them and they want to attend a community short break please let us know at the point of booking.
