About the protocol

The City Council and its partners have developed a Winter Plan for Coventry to support the delivery of Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP) and guide to how we will deliver Extended Winter Provisions across Coventry.

View the draft SWEP and Extended Winter Provision Protocol.

It sets out how we will work with our partner organisations to ensure the city’s most vulnerable households are able to access appropriate accommodation and support during severe weather situations over the winter months. It is also founded on the principle that at no time does anyone have to sleep rough on the city’s streets.

Advice and guidance

You do not need to wait for SWEP or other provisions to become available. We work closely with our partners to ensure there is advice guidance and support available to all those who need it.
