Coventry Carers' Strategy 2016 - 2019

This is Coventry’s third multi-agency Carers' Strategy and has been developed based on what carers tell us they need both nationally and locally.

It applies to carers of all ages and builds on the significant progress and achievements from previous strategies. The strategy is based on the four priority areas of the current National Carers' Strategy: “Recognised, Valued and Supported” and identifies 12 key improvement areas to support these priorities.

Coventry and Warwickshire - Carers Action Plans

We delayed the publication of the Coventry Carers' Strategy in 2020 due to the monumental changes we saw during the COVID-19 which have had a massive impact on people with caring responsibilities.

We have made the decision to work in partnership with Warwickshire to develop a Carers Action Plan across the area with the hope to publish this in 2023.

In the coming months we'll be seeking views and input into the Action Plan and working with partner organisations to develop this. If you have an interest in being involved please email: CarersTeam@coventry.gov.uk

We are currently working to understand how we can best support carers in the community to create a community model of support. This may include, for example:

  • Shopping
  • Errand running
  • ‘Sit in’ service
  • Driving or transport
  • Meal preparation

If you are a carer in Coventry and have any suggestions or feedback of tasks that would support your day to day life, or would like to know more or be involved in this work, please email CarersTeam@coventry.gov.uk
