Coventry - European City of Sport 2019 privacy notice

This Privacy Notice explains how personal information you provide as part of the European City of Sport 2019 Programme will be used. Aggregate statistical information will be provided to the European Capitals and Cities of Sport Federation at the end of 2019.

Why we process personal information about you

We collect and use personal information about you so that we can:

  • Organise sporting and cultural events
  • Contact you with event information
  • Send out a newsletter
  • Publicise events and organisations
  • Ask for feedback on events
  • Collect & analyse event statistics in order to measure social impact
  • Share contact information with different partners & organisations
  • Assess grant applications

We will only use your information if you have given us your consent.

What information we collect about you

We collect and process:

  • Names
  • Organisation names
  • Contact Information – (work/organisational email & phone number)
  • Event statistics from each organisation for analysis

Who we share your personal information with

We will share with:

  • other participants of the City of Sport Programme.

Aggregate statistical information and the overall social impact of events will be shared with the European Capitals and Cities of Sport Federation in order to fulfil the criteria of Coventry’s participation in the programme.

We will ask for your consent before sharing contact information.

How long will we keep your information for?

Your information will be used during Coventry’s year as a European City of Sport in 2019. After that it will no longer be used as part of the programme.

Your rights

You have the right to: 

  1. Ask for all information about you that we hold 
  2. Withdraw consent in some cases  
  3. Ask us to change information we hold about you if it is wrong 
  4. Ask us to limit the way we use your personal information 
  5. Data portability (have your data transferred to another Authority) 
  6. Question decisions made about you by a computer  
  7. Complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (information below)

Where personal data is processed on the basis of consent, you will have the right to withdraw that consent.
