Coventry Very Light Rail on road test
Bookings are now sold out - look out on our socials to see when any new slots are made available.
Coventry Very Light Rail is like a tram but better, thanks to the fact that its rails can be laid on ultra-strong concrete in a fraction of the time and at a fraction of the cost to a conventional tram. Battery-powered and with no overhead cables, CVLR will provide an alternative to the car, complementing existing public transport, and helping to improve air quality while reducing congestion.
Our vehicle will be able to carry up to 60 people, but for the test rides on the prototype, we can take 17 people seated, plus a space for wheelchair and pushchair users.
The Department for Transport funds Coventry Very Light Rail through the WMCA City Regional Sustainable Transport Settlement.
