The aim of this session is to support practitioners working with children under 2 years old within Early Years settings, and also settings who are exploring expanding their provision to care for children under 2 years old.
By the end of the session, learners will have had the opportunity to:
- Reflect on their current practice and identify what works well
- Consider the developmental needs of babies and how best to provide appropriate experiences
- Discuss the environment and rhythm of the day, and explore how this is best planned to ensure babies’ physicality
- Explore the essential role of the early years’ practitioner, particularly with regards to strong communication and language development
- Consider how skilful support of personal, social and emotional development can create lasting benefits for children with regards to regulating and managing their emotional well-being and mental health
This training is suitable for anyone working with children under two years old or leading staff who work with this age group including childminders caring for children in a home-based setting.
