Course Aim

To be able to care effectively for people living with sensory loss.


By the end of this course you will:

  • Know what sensory awareness is
  • Know what sensory loss is
  • Be aware of types of vision loss
  • Know some eye conditions or diseases
  • Be aware of different vision aids
  • Know ways to care for people with vision problems
  • Know what effects hearing loss has on people
  • Be aware of different types of hearing loss
  • Know ways to care for those living with hearing loss
  • Understand the importance of taste and smell
  • Be aware of ways to care for those losing the sense of touch
