In addition to good quality line-management supervision, it is important for Social Workers to receive Professional Supervision that supports them to maintain the requirements of their Social Work England(SWE)Registration, to continue their own Professional Development, to aid reflective practice and to ensure that Social Workers are meeting the Professional Competencies Framework(PCF)and Knowledge and Skills Statements(KSS)appropriate to their skill level and position from student to senior practitioner level. Managers who are Social Workers themselves are prompted to consider the KSS for leaders.
This session refreshes managers of Social Workers in the requirements of SWE, PCF and KSS and explores how these can be linked to case supervision, appraisals and CPD. The session looks at reflection and the importance of supporting Social Workers to consider issues such as power, ethics and diversity within their practice, as well as how they can model Strengths-Based Practice in their professional relationships as well as with service-users.
