The church congregation has been meeting since the middle ages of the 17th century but the present chapel was opened in 1884
Retaining many original features it can now seat 500 in pine pews and includes a gallery. The Baptistry (which is covered by the front platform when not in use) will be on display along with the communion table and pulpit. There is a fine organ which was installed a few years after the building was opened. There are War Memorial stained glass windows (1922) of a distinctively non-conformist nature depicting scenes from Bunyan's Pilgrims Progress, a popular Free Church theme.
Come along and view the original Baptismal Pool and original War Memorial stained glass along with guided tours of the Victorian Chapel (1884). and other areas on request. An exhibition of the history of the building and church community will be available to view.
