The Herbert Art Gallery and Museum tells 2000 years of Coventry's history and is home to an impressive visual art collection. In 2010 it was awarded Family Friendly Museum of the Year.
Join one of the Herbert’s free ‘Behind the Scenes’ tours of the museum stores. Each tour will last about 45 minutes and can accommodate up to 12 people (suitable for ages 5 and upwards). Please contact us in advance if you have any special access requirements.
11.30am - 12.30pm
This tour will look at the Herbert’s collection of oil paintings, dating from the 1500s to the present day.
1.30pm - 2.30pm
Explore our Natural Sciences collection, including taxidermy mammals and birds, as well as insects, fossils, skeletons and more.
2.30pm - 3.30pm
We will examine some of the historic fashions in the collection as well as the museum’s fabulous collection of Coventry-made silk ribbons.
