Gosford Community Hub
Day opportunity service.
What is on offer?
Gosford Community Hub is a day service for adults with Profound, Multiple and Learning Disabilities (PMLD).
Gosford Community Hub is near the City Centre, in the Stoke area. Their goal is to provide a high standard of care for everyone who accesses the service, promoting dignity, respect, and independence. They offer a range of activities that cater to everyone’s needs, at the Hub and out in the community.
Gosford Community Hub supports people who attend with all aspects of their care, whether this be support around dysphagia, PEG feeding, personal care, thickened drinks, medication, or participation in all activities throughout the day.
The aim is to promote people's independence wherever possible, giving them an active role in the support provided. Staff plan and run activities throughout the day in small groups, both in the Hub and the community. The team creates meaningful and memorable days whilst providing a fun, happy, and safe environment.
Bringing the sunshine with us
What families and carers say about Gosford Community Hub:
When it came to Ethan leaving school, we were quite apprehensive about what his future may hold. We had expected him to go to college, but that didn’t work out, and it was suggested we visit the Gosford Community Hub. I have to admit we were a little concerned as our vision of what a ‘day centre’ might entail was not what we wanted for Ethan. However, the minute we set foot inside the Gosford Hub, all our fears faded away. We were immediately struck with the warmth, care and friendliness of the staff and knew straight away that Ethan would fit right in. We certainly haven’t been disappointed; Ethan is extremely happy and contented with his days at the hub and has settled right in. He squeals with delight on arrival, which is fantastic to hear! He enjoys all of the activities on offer, which are varied and fun and has blossomed into a very happy young man.
