'One Coventry' is our approach to building a Coventry that works for all. It is not a programme with projects and milestones. It is about how we do things now and in the future. It's working together to improve people's lives and the city.
We are developing how we view modern employment routes into the organisation by embedding apprenticeships and work placements within our people strategies, talent pipeline and career pathways. We want to provide a modern employment offer and a viable route into and up through the organisation for both existing and new employees.
Overview of our service areas
At Coventry City Council, we enable individuals and families to achieve successful outcomes through customer contact, public health prevention and education and skills, adults and children’s services and provide support for the most vulnerable. The work we do improves people’s lives – from helping them into work to providing clean and green places to live, to keeping people safe and protected.
Business want to come and invest in the city because of the work we are doing. We’re providing jobs for local people and improving the skills of young people so they can be the workforce of the future. We are dedicated to delivering the city’s economic and cultural regeneration and delivering high quality services, including provision of the city’s highways, good schools, healthy and resilient communities, refuse collection, sporting provision and cultural life.
