COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

Easing of lockdown

Let's help each other stay safe in Coventry. Hands, face, space, fresh air.

We are working closely with our NHS colleagues, and other public sector organisations to ensure that the people of Coventry are kept well informed.

We are now on the second step of the government's roadmap out of lockdown. You can read the ‘COVID-19 Response - Spring 2021’ (the roadmap) for more information on how COVID-19 restrictions will be eased in England.

Although some rules on what you can and cannot do have changed, many restrictions remain in place. You must not socialise indoors with anyone you do not live with, unless you have formed a support bubble with them, or another exemption applies. You should continue to work from home if you can and minimise the number of journeys you make where possible. You should get a test and follow the stay at home guidance if you have COVID-19 symptoms.

Everyone still needs to play their part by following the current rules and guidance. If we don’t do this, the relaxation of rules is less likely to happen. Only by working together can we make a difference and reduce the spread of coronavirus in Coventry.

Remember – Hands – Face – Space

  • hands – wash your hands regularly and for 20 seconds
  • face – wear a face covering in indoor settings where social distancing may be difficult, and where you will come into contact with people you do not normally meet
  • space – stay 2 metres apart from people you do not live with where possible, or 1 metre with extra precautions in place (such as wearing face coverings or increasing ventilation indoors)
