The Government has announced a series of measures to significantly increase the economic support available to businesses and workers during coronavirus. These measures include unlimited loans and guarantees to support firms and help them manage staff wages and cashflow through this period.
Coventry City Council business support specialists are in daily contact with UK Government and other strategic partners to ensure that our businesses can quickly get access to the support that is being made available. Specific local updates will be posted here as and when they are available.

Business rates - New business rates bills are being calculated to reflect the revised business rates relief guidance announced by Government on 18 March. These will be issued to business ratepayers as soon as possible. For those paying by Direct Debit, if it is not possible to issue the new bill before your first instalment falls due in April, we will take steps as far as possible to ensure that no funds are taken from your account until your new bill has been issued. For those eligible businesses that do not pay by Direct Debit we will take no recovery action if you miss you first payment so as to allow time for the new bill to be issued. We will actively identify eligible businesses and there is no need to contact us at this stage.
Businesses are being urged to donate spare personal protective equipment (PPE) for Coventry City Council staff.
The ongoing COVID-19 (also known as Coronavirus) situation means that these are difficult times for all business and organisations around our city and indeed the country and the Council would like to thank you and your staff for your continuing hard work to keep our city running as best you can. We would also like to ask you for a little help if possible.
As you will appreciate, as a Council, we work in all areas of the city, in a variety of locations and a variety of ways, from schools to social care settings. We provide a wide array of services for the people of Coventry, including those who are most vulnerable.
To support that work, we are asking all our city’s businesses if they could offer help in sourcing some vital supplies that will help our teams in their duties around the city.
We need a good supply of hand sanitiser (any size, smaller size the better) and PPE including IIR/FFP2/FFP3 face masks, nitrile/latex gloves, visors/goggles and aprons.
Donations of fluid repellent face masks and single use disposable gloves and aprons would be welcomed by the council to keep staff safe as they care for vulnerable people.
Tattoo shops, nail and beauty salons, manufacturers and other businesses who use PPE but who are currently not operating or who can spare some are being asked to give what they can.
The PPE is needed to protect council staff while they go about their jobs caring for people in their homes, helping the vulnerable and delivering supplies to the people most in need.
If you have any of these items that are surplus to your needs that you would be prepared to donate or sell, or you have contacts who could help us, it would be much appreciated.
Every piece of equipment will help us to support our residents through the current crisis, and help us to save lives.
If you can help in any way, please contact email@example.com
