We consider that the majority of our key priorities, as set out in the Council Plan, are equality objectives. These will address any gaps in the way services and employment opportunities are provided. The equality objectives are set for four years and will be monitored, reviewed and reported on annually.
Through consultation, people of Coventry have told us what they think are the most important things that we should work on. We refer to these as our key priorities. The information related to each of the priorities is broken down for information on equalities, which provides details on the areas where there is under or over representation and helps us to identify where inequalities may exist and where we would need to do further work to address the gaps.
We consulted with trade unions, community groups and employees in March and May 2016. Equality objectives were approved by Cabinet Member on 14 July 2016.
