The War Memorial Park Community Tennis Club was set up in 2012 through a partnership between the Council and Inspire2Coach.
The tennis courts were improved in 2011 valued at more than £225,000, including resurfacing of the eight full-size courts and two mini-courts, brand new fencing, and floodlights to four courts, making play possible all year round.
Next to the courts is a cafe, bowling green and an adventure play area for children, making a safe, fun area for tennis players and their families.
The tennis club's aim is to offer affordable tennis for all. This will give our members a chance to meet and play other people with similar interests. With members allowed to use the courts for free, you can improve your tennis game in a friendly and sociable environment.

inspire2coach is passionate about tennis and inspiring tennis players and tennis coaches to get the most from the sport. We run coaching programmes at tennis clubs across the Midlands from our HQ at the University of Warwick Tennis Centre in Coventry. We're also a leading coach education provider, with training and courses across the UK and internationally.
We are keen to help local partners develop new opportunities for the community to become more active in sport and physical activity. The improved tennis courts give an excellent opportunity for local people to take part in tennis in a friendly and safe environment – no matter how good they are.
