War Memorial Park community tennis club

About us

The War Memorial Park Community Tennis Club was set up in 2012 through a partnership between the Council and Inspire2Coach.

Facilities

The tennis courts were improved  in 2011 valued at more than £225,000, including resurfacing of the eight full-size courts and two mini-courts, brand new fencing, and floodlights to four courts, making play possible all year round.

Next to the courts is a cafe, bowling green and an adventure play area for children, making a safe, fun area for tennis players and their families.

Aim

The tennis club's aim is to offer affordable tennis for all. This will give our members a chance to meet and play other people with similar interests. With members allowed to use the courts for free, you can improve your tennis game in a friendly and sociable environment.

The tennis club is a constituted club with elected committee members. For a copy of the Club Constitution, please contact us.

The War Memorial Park is a Lawn Tennis Association Clubmark accredited club, which means it:

  • operates in a safe, effective and child-friendly environment.
  • has a fair and transparent operational structure
  • keeps to best practice policies for safeguarding junior and adult members
  • has a full tennis programme for all ages and abilities
  • produces a clear plan of action for future success and growth
