Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce Training celebrate success of learners at National Association of Hairdressers and Therapists Finals. Carys Weaver and Shannon Doherty both pre-16 learners on Work Related Learning are working towards the Level 2 VRQ Hair Diploma course. Back in Feb both girls where placed joint third in regional finals and were invited to the Nationals in Blackpool. On the day they faced stiff competition in the ladies evening style category with over 20 candidates competing. Both girls produced excellent work in pressurized conditions, 45 minutes to complete an evening look from start to finish.
The girls demonstrated their skills by producing a pleat and vintage rolls and a pin up curl look. Feedback from the tutor Jayne Powell was that the girls will be “Stars of the future, and will most definitely have a promising career in the Hair Sector” They presented themselves immaculately on the day and conducted themselves professionally. They were confident, outgoing and mixed well with people from the industry and other stylists on the day. Although not placed on this occasion, they delivered work to a high standard and performed well throughout the scrutinising of the expert panel of judges.
Both girls are currently on placement with local Salons and are likely to be offered the opportunity to further their learning through the Apprenticeship Route. CWCCT also scooped first place for one of its learners on the Apprenticeship Route.
