Work Related Learning Training Providers

Our service is supported by a large team of professionals from schools and providers. We encourage a 'collaborative' relationship between all stakeholders and service users.

It is a fantastic way for sharing information, knowledge and skills. We meet with all providers once every term and this enables the opportunity to share practice and give updates to staff and ensure our timelines are met.

We are proud of the work that we do and are delighted to introduce you to the providers who are successful in meeting council requirements to work with us.

See below to find out more about who we work with.

Belgrade Theatre

The Belgrade Theatre's Community & Education team delivers LifeStage, a WRL course, as part of a range of programmes for young people and the wider community.

The Belgrade is a busy professional producing theatre, where learners are supported by professional and specialist performing arts staff and have access to excellent industry standard facilities. The theatre opens at 10.00am and is easily accessible in the centre of the city.

Students have to option to enrol onto LifeStage for a full academic year or for individual terms. Over the course of the year LifeStage students will complete 3 Level 1 Awards in Personal Well-Being (Sept-Dec), Performing Arts (Jan-April) and Employability and Development Skills (April-July). All three qualifications are delivered using theatre and drama based teaching methods and are suited to young people who wish to pursue a career in the arts and those who would benefit from a less traditional style of learning.

The WRL group is usually the only students in the theatre during delivery days so while there are no other students to mix with, they form strong relationships with each other and the very supportive staff team. Students will also have the opportunity to engage with our wider programme of Community and Education work both during and after their time on LifeStage by joining one of our youth theatre.

Brakes Training and Automotive Repairs

Brakes are a small delivery provider who specialise in motor vehicle maintenance basic mechanical skills and fabrication and welding.

The staff/pupil ratio is high.Pupils form excellent relationships with the staff and are well supported both personally and in their learning. The site is small allowing pupils to become familiar quickly and adjust to their new environment. But what makes it even better is Brakes is a full working garage, giving young people a true experience of working in the trade. Brakes have worked particularly well with pupils in most need of support. Places are limited every year due to the demand for their courses.

The work is very practical with pupils studying towards Entry level 3 or Level 1 courses with the possibility of Level 2 progression. Brakes Automotive Repairs & Training Ltd provides young people with the skills and communication to move young people on to either a MotorVehicle apprenticeship or to FE, or a training provider for further study.

Coventry College

Coventry College has two Campus’; City Campus and Henley Campus.

Coventry College is one of our large Delivery Providers which is able to offer a wide range of vocational subject areas.

Students can enjoy the highly equipped contemporary surroundings. Coventry College courses are mainly offered at Level 1 and are available in a variety of different vocation areas and settings. However, some courses may be offered at Entry level for specialised provision such as ESOL and Functional Skills. Teaching groups range between 12 and 16 pupils.

Pupils have the opportunity of mixing with other pre-16 pupils during lunchtime and breaks. The merged College offers excellent facilities: classrooms, workshops, E-Hub, Student common room, IT facilities and the Chill Zone. As well as the great facilities, the college offers a wide variety of food and beverage choices including Costa and Starbucks as well as the traditional canteen facilities which are located in both the North and South buildings at City Campus.

In 2014, the Henley campus opened a £8 million new build allowing all of their learners to benefit from a high specification, modern learning environment including new teaching and learning spaces, hair and beauty salons, engineering workshops, social spaces and sports facilities.

The staff across both campuses at Coventry College are friendly and celebrate the diverse student population who learn at the college. Coventry College educates large numbers of students; mainly aged post-16 and this sets the tone and ethos of the environment. Work Related Learning pupils are offered the opportunity to maintain their learning at Coventry College by applying for courses post-16 and large numbers of our 14-16 learners choose to continue their education at the College.

Coventry College works closely with all its partners across the City of Coventry, including over 400 employers, schools, the Local Authority and the Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) to make sure that the curriculum that is offered for pre-16 learners provides a seamless transition to post-16 education, onto programmes of study that are relevant to the workplace, apprenticeships and higher education.

Each year we are improving on its delivery and provision for work related learners who are not engaged in school. We have worked with a wide range of schools and colleges offering a diverse range of courses. This has included working with Coventry City Council and Warwickshire Council where several students have attended from several different schools. We have worked with cohorts of 15 learners from different backgrounds to train them in a variety of construction-based skills.

Central building and Welding Academy is a training provider that welcomes school students and other applicants whatever their gender, age, ethnic origin, religion, disability, culture, sexual orientation, political belief, academic attainment or general ability.

We strive to foster a friendly, secure and caring environment for all our learners. We welcome and encourage applications from people with disabilities, including those with learning difficulties. If you have a disability, we will work with you and provide additional support to help you reach your true potential.

We would like to ensure assessment methods are considered for the needs and abilities of different learning groups ensuring that we provide opportunities for learners to achieve equally.

We promote equality and diversity by embedding this within our training and regularly reminding the students of the equality and diversity of Central building and Welding Academy.

Nulogic Training

Nulogic was formed by Josh, Dave and Aron in 2017 because we all share three important beliefs: we believe in young people, we believe that education can be a powerful tool to inspire, motivate and develop the next generation and we believe that learning should be fun and engaging.

We came together to start an organisation that could enable people with similar beliefs to join a team with one clear mission: to change the lives of young people through education. Our team achieves this mission by helping schools and academies with their internal curriculum with a variety of programmes.

We don’t believe in just meeting customers’ expectations on our programmes. We believe in exceeding those expectations. We do this having a positive, long term effect on learners that participate in our programmes.
