The Job Shop building is open to customers for face-to-face appointments. Appointments can be booked between 9:30am (10:30 Thursday) and 4:30pm. To guarantee an appointment, we advise you to book a slot using the details below.

Stringent measures are in place to ensure social distancing is adhered to and The Job Shop offers a safe and welcoming environment for those requiring support to find their next positive destination, whether that be employment, education or training.

How to book an appointment

Make a Job Shop appointment

You will need to input the following information:

  • Name
  • Phone number
  • E-mail
  • Postcode (full address not required)
  • Age range
  • Employment/Education status

Please note postcode, age range and employment/education status are requested to ensure you see the most appropriate Job Coach, as each Job Coach works within a separate area of specialism.

Job Shop Coaching Appointment

The Job Shop Job Coaching service offers face to face advice and guidance to those who need it. They can support with:

  • Getting your CV, application forms and interview skills up to speed
  • Accessing the local vacancies to suit you, as soon as local employers recruit
  • Offering spaces to exciting recruitment open days to have a chance to directly meet local employers
  • Specialised support and guidance to further your chances of success

We can offer appointments in 3 different locations, depending on where suits you most, we are operating out of:

  • The Job Shop, 1 Bull Yard, CV1 1LH
  • Moat Family Hub, Deedmore Road, CV2 1EQ
  • Park Edge Family Hub, Roseberry Avenue, CV2 1NE

Job Shop Money Advice Appointment

The Job Shop Money Advice Service offers advice and guidance to those who need it. They can support with:

  • Benefit claims, queries and challenges
  • Benefit entitlement checks and in-work/better off calculations
  • Budget management
  • Housing and homelessness support
  • Plus, much more

Please only attend your Money Advice appointment if you are registered with The Job Shop. Your appointment will only go ahead once it has been confirmed you are registered to access the service. If you would like a Money Advice appointment but aren’t registered, please submit your details.

For the Money Adviser to best help you and avoid delays, we ask that you please ensure you bring to the appointment any letters, bank statements, bills or account numbers that relate to your issue.

If your appointment is to make a new claim to Universal Credit, you will need details of your tenancy agreement, bank account, national insurance number and be able to access your emails.

National Careers Service Appointments

The National Careers Service provides careers information, advice and guidance. We are on hand to help you make decisions on learning, training and work at all stages in your career.

We need proof of your:

  1. Right to work in the UK
  2. Address
  3. Age

These can be found by bringing in a combination of the following:

  • Full EU passport
  • Birth certificate
  • Full/provisional driving licence
  • Bank statement (dated within the last 3 months)
  • Benefits notification letter (dated within the last 3 months)
  • Utility bill (dated within the last 3 months)

Careers Adviser (for 16-18 year olds not in education)

Prospects are an organisation who work with all young people aged 16-18 in Coventry who are not in education, training or employment, to explore and secure suitable opportunities. They make sure young people most in need of specialist help can access guidance and support to help them move into education, employment and training.

We need proof of your:

  1. Right to work in the UK
  2. Address
  3. Age

These can be found by bringing in a combination of the following:

How do I cancel or amend an appointment?

To cancel or amend your booking, you can either:
