Job Shop services for people looking for work

Book an appointment - Careers Adviser (for 16-18 year olds not in education)

Changes from 19 April 2021

The Job Shop building will re-open on 19 April to customers with pre-booked appointments. Customers will be able to book appointments from 10:30am - 4:30pm.

Stringent measures are in place to ensure social distancing is adhered to and The Job Shop offers a safe and welcoming environment for those requiring support to find their next positive destination, whether that be employment, education or training.

It is mandatory for you to wear a face mask when entering the Job Shop.

We do have a COVID Secure office space and you will meet your advisor at a 2m distance behind a screen. This is an agreed safe meeting space so your advisor and yourself may agree to a temporary removal of mask when you are seated but not before unless needed on medical grounds.

We review the guidance daily so we will make any further changes when required we thank you in advance for your support in protecting each other from the effects of COVID-19.

Changes

We are operating with customer and staff safety in mind, so we have made a couple of changes to ensure we can do this.

  • We are now operating a 'one way' system inside the job shop to reduce crossing paths in close quarters with others.
  • Hand sanitiser is available on entrance and exit.
  • Perspex screens on tables where your appointments will take place.
  • Between appointments, members of staff will sanitize tables and chairs.
  • We request the use of face masks whilst in The Job Shop, unless exempt.
  • Provision has been made for individual appointments, where possible we would ask that you attend alone. If you wish to be accompanied or require assistance, can you please contact The Job Shop prior to your booking and we can make the necessary arrangements.

Booking

To ensure we can maintain social distancing, a reduced number of people will be allowed into The Job Shop at any one time. To minimise the risk to our customers and our staff we are asking visitors to book a time slot to minimise and control the number of people arriving at the same time.

Please do not arrive more than 10 minutes before your appointment time. Queueing outside The Job Shop will be monitored by a member of staff who will sign you in.

When you visit

You will be required to queue outside where a member of staff will be waiting to check you in and take you to your advisor.
We ask that you follow all site rules and guidance from the staff.

Please do not be offended if staff remind you of these rules throughout your visit, our customers and our staff's health and wellbeing are paramount.
