Approved premises are venues that have been granted a licence to hold civil marriage ceremonies. You should contact each of the venues directly for more information about the services they offer.

Registering an approved premise in Coventry

If you are not already an approved premises and wish to make an application to become a civil wedding venue you can make a marriage venue licence application

There is an application fee of £1,600 for this licence.

Approved premises in Coventry

A civil marriage ceremony can be held at any Approved Premises in England and Wales. These are buildings which are licensed by the local council for this purpose.

There are many places in Coventry where you can get married - including hotels, the Ricoh Arena, stately homes and St Mary's Guildhall.

Fees for ceremonies in approved premises

The fees below are for your ceremony between 1 April 2019 - 31 March 2020: 

  • Monday to Thursday £465.00
  • Friday £525.00
  • Saturday £580.00
  • Sunday £645.00
  • Special Dates & Bank Holidays - £715.00

Prices are excluding the cost of certificates:

  • £11.00 Marriage and Civil Partnership
  • £5.00 Renewal of Vows, Naming Ceremonies and Commitment Ceremonies

**All fees must be paid in full 3 months prior to the ceremony**

Cancellation policy

Amending the date of your ceremony

An amendment fee of £100.00 will be charged for each alteration made to the date of ceremony

Cancelling your ceremony

The following conditions apply should you wish to cancel or postpone your wedding, civil partnership, renewal of vows or naming ceremony.

  • Ceremonies taking place at approved venues – total fee will be refunded, less £100 administration cost
  • You will not be entitled to a refund if you cancel less than 3 months  before your ceremony
  • You will not be entitled to a refund if you fail to notify the office of a cancellation or fail to attend a ceremony

Fees are updated on 1 April and any charges made are applicable to the year the ceremony takes place NOT when the fees are paid.
