Temporary event licence

Application process

Please note the last day for TEN’s to be submitted for Christmas & New Years is 14th December 2018

Applications must be made via Gov.UK. The Licensing Team then serve a copy of the application on West Midlands Police Licensing Team and the City Council's Environmental Protection Team.  If the Police or Environmental Protection have concerns about your TEN then we will let you know within 48 hours and hold a hearing (if required) within five working days.

You must give at least 10 working days notice before your event.  Usually, where there are no problems, the Council will acknowledge and return a copy of your notice, which must then be made available for inspection during the event if required.

If you are submitting a late TEN, then you the application must reach us within 5 - 9 working days of the event taking place.  If the Police or Environmental Protection refuse your application, then no hearing will take place and the decision is made by themselves.

Does tacit consent apply?

Tacit consent will apply, this means that you will be able to act as though your application is granted if you have not heard from the Council by the end of the target period.

Please note tacit consent will only apply once a full application has been submitted and you have received an acknowledgment
