Industrial chimneys
Under the Clean Air Act 1993 it is an offence for dark smoke to be emitted from any chimney serving a furnace or boiler or industrial plant on trade or industrial premises. The Environmental Protection Section can take action on a first offence under the Clean Air Act 1993, or take enforcement action under the Environmental Permitting Regulations 2010 if the premises is regulated under this legislation.
