Coventry historic environment record

Parish and manor maps

The Coventry HER contains much historic landscape information, based on historic documents (such as estate maps, tithe maps, inclosure maps and awards, as well as documents such as leases, rentals, property conveyances and apportionment documents). These give detailed information such as the landowner, tenant, field or plot name for much of the city over many centuries.

This mapped information allows users to see more detail on the historic parishes and manors that lay within what is now the modern city boundary. In the mid 19th century the parishes were Allesley, Holy Trinity (incorporating Coundon and Willenhall), St. Michael's (incorporating Keresley), Foleshill, Walsgrave on Sowe, Wyken, Stoke, Binley, Stivichall and Stoneleigh.

We aim to make this data available online shortly; but the information can be supplied on-request in the meantime.
