Making a complaint about rented accommodation

Tenancy advice

The Government has brought forward a package of measures to protect renters affected by COVID-19 (Coronavirus). With these in force, no renter in either social or private accommodation will be forced out of their home.

The Council will still investigate complaints of harassment and illegal eviction. Where a complaint is received the case officer will contact you to advise accordingly.

Please note that tenants quitting properties with fixed period tenancy agreements early are still liable for the rent until the end of that fixed period.  Further information is available on Shelter's web pages

  • If you need general tenancy advice, both Shelter and Coventry Citizens Advice have web pages that provide tenancy information.
  • If you think you are being harassed or illegally evicted please contact the Housing Enforcement team.
  • If you think you are about to become homeless, please contact Homelessness Advice and Support.
