Coventry Children and Young People Plan

Coventry has a Children and Young People Plan.

The plan sets out the outcomes organisations in Coventry will work together to deliver so they can provide the best support possible for children, young people and their families.

The new plan builds on the successes achieved in the previous version it replaces. The revisions also recognise the changing landscape of the public sector and in Coventry as a whole. Our aspirations and hopes for children and young people in the city have not changed, but there are fewer resources and capacity to achieve these ambitions. Although there are challenges, there are also many opportunities to do things differently.

There are four key priorities within the plan:

  1. Early help
  2. Be healthy
  3. Stay safe
  4. Education, training and employment

The priorities identified relate to the things that are best achieved by partners together. The document is therefore not a description of the work of each partner individually, but the work where we know by working together can have the biggest impact on the lives of children and young people.

The plan is being overseen by Coventry’s multi-agency Children and Young People Partnership Board which will drive the programme of work and review the impact and make adjustments when required. The plan will be reviewed annually.
