All 3 and 4 year olds in England are universally entitled to 570 hours per year. This is usually taken as a maximum of 15 hours a week over 38 weeks of the year, but can be taken as fewer hours over more weeks in the year if this is offered by the Early Years provider you choose. Some 2 year olds are also eligible for up to 15 hours a week but eligibility for this would need to be checked first. From September 2017, some 3 and 4 year olds will also be eligible for an Extended Entitlement of an additional 15 hours a week - potentially 30 hours a week over 38 weeks of the year.
Early years providers include playgroups/pre-schools, childminders, day care nursery settings and children's centres. They would have to be registered with Ofsted to be able to offer free early education entitlement places.
The Coventry Family Information Service (FIS) holds up to date information on all early years' providers that are registered to provide early education entitlement places. They offer free and impartial advice about Early Years and Childcare providers in Coventry.
