Foster carer events

Appreciation event

Fostering is a unique role and we feel as a fostering service, that our foster carers need to be recognised for all of the hard work that they do. The annual celebration awards recognises milestones and the time committed to fostering and the dedication of our foster carers to the children of Coventry.
The evening event starts with the foster carers arriving and having the opportunity to  socialise with each other and with members of the fostering team. The Lord Mayor, local councillors and senior managers also attend to take the opportunity  to speak to with foster carers, asking them about their experiences since they started fostering, their achievements and anything that we could do to improve the support and service we offer.  A buffet is provided for all attendees. The Lord Mayor and others will formally address the fostering families, recognising the hard work that foster carers do, reiterating how the council values our foster carers and commending the dedication and emphasise what a difference they can make to young lives.
Long service and other awards are then presented to foster carers as appropriate.
