Apprenticeships

We see the value in apprenticeships as a foundation of a great career and offer a range of opportunities from working in an office to outdoors. Our Apprenticeship programme supports you to gain new knowledge and experiences along with achieving a qualification all whilst earning a salary. You will be supported throughout your apprenticeship and work alongside great colleagues to help prepare you for your career ahead.

Apply for an Apprenticeship

All our apprenticeships are advertised through our online jobs site. Please type 'apprentice' into the search bar and all of the current apprenticeship vacancies will be displayed. You can also register to create an account and set up job alerts whenever we advertise new apprenticeships.

Our application process now includes a personal statement, this will give you an opportunity to highlight what sets you apart from other candidates.

Did you know that there is support available to help you with your application?

If you would like support in completing your application, or have any questions about our recruitment and selection processes, then help is available at The Job Shop.

We would recommend that all applicants take advantage of this service in order to maximise the chances of being shortlisted.

National Graduate Development Programme (NGDP)

Local councils are looking for the next generation of managers to lead critical projects and services that have tangible, everyday outcomes for people's lives. The National Graduate Development Programme (NGDP) seeks to match bright, passionate graduates with councils where they can deliver key projects and amazing value for money.

Coventry City Council partners with the Local Government Association and takes part in the scheme every two years. Currently, we have three NGDP graduates that work across different services areas.

The National Graduate Development Programme (NGDP) website has more updates and details on the application process.
