Getting support with your energy bills

Support with energy bills during COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

If you are experiencing difficulties paying your energy bills, the Government has agreed measures with energy suppliers to provide support to vulnerable customers. Help available includes:

  • Reducing or pausing debt repayment and bill payments
  • Discretionary credit top ups in certain circumstances for pre-payment meters, either by sending out pre-loaded top up cards or nominating a third party to collect a card
  • Credit meters will not be disconnected

You should contact your energy supplier immediately if you find yourself in difficulty.

 You can also contact Act on Energy on: 0800 988 2881, which is a local, free and impartial advice service. They provide advice on all energy related issues, including taking control of your energy bills.
