Update: Following the publication of the new National Flood and Coastal Risk Management Strategy in July 2020, the Council is expecting to receive updated local strategy guidance in 2021. An update of the surface water management plan may follow this.
Coventry has been affected by surface water flooding during storm events several times since 1998.
The Surface Water Management Plan is a document that sets out the long term plan for reducing the risk of surface water flooding throughout the city. The Plan includes methodology for the identification and assessment of risk and options for implementation of risk reduction methods.
The plan was developed in partnership with other risk management authorities including the Environment Agency and Severn Trent Water Ltd.
