As the UK has not left the European Union, we are required to plan and participate in the European Union Parliamentary Election which will take place across Europe on 23 May. 

Whilst the UK remains a member state on the EU, UK Citizens are entitled to vote for and be represented by Members of the European Parliament (MEPs).

Coventry is part of the West Midlands Region, which is currently represented by 7 MEPs.

All eligible electors are entitled to vote in this election, receive a poll card and/or postal vote if appropriate. 

Key dates for election on 23 May 2019

  • Deadline for new applications to register in time to vote at the above election: Tuesday 7 May 2019, Midnight
  • Deadline for submitting European Parliament Voter Registration Form: Tuesday 7 May 2019, Midnight
  • Deadline for submitting applications to vote by post at the above election: Wednesday 8 May 2019, 5pm
  • Deadline for submitting applications to vote by proxy at the above election: Wednesday 15 May 2019, 5pm
  • Distribution of Postal Votes to voters 8 May and 14 May 2019
