Coventry Homefinder

Proposed change - adapted properties

For adapted properties to be advertised and allocated via Coventry Homefinder and not by a separate list.

What does the current policy say?

Currently all adapted properties are allocated via a separate list. This means a household waiting for an adapted property only knows a potential property has become available if they are contacted directly by the Housing Association (although applicants can bid on advertised properties without adaptation).

Why change?

To increase the transparency of how adapted properties are allocated and enable people needing adapted properties the opportunity to bid. Properties will be matched more appropriately, and it will reduce the number of properties where adaptions are removed because no suitable tenant has been found.
