Coventry City of Culture Trust are on the hunt for new voices and stories from across the city. What's your story?

Free writing workshops

Join Coventry-based writers Chris O'Connell and Vanessa Oakes for an informal writing workshop.

Following an introductory workshop, Theatre Absolute wish to establish a regular writing groups in five areas of the city, meeting weekly over the coming months.

Whilst exploring your stories, you will be encouraged to write - you'll get an introduction to many different approaches: writing for film, spoken word, poetry, writing for the stage, radio and fiction. It's not academic in any way, so you don't need to worry about being qualified. Whilst conversational English is required, where possible, Theatre Absolute can offer additional support.

Choose to attend one of the workshop dates at Broad Street Meeting Hall, 126 Broad Street, CV6 5BG on:

  • Monday 29 April, 6-8pm
  • Saturday 4 May, 11am-1pm

Book your place by emailing or by calling 07799 292 957. Beginners are welcome. Ages 16 and upwards.

If you lead or run a group and would like to book a workshop for your group, contact the team.
